On March 25, the South Texas Event Professionals hosted their first ever vendor mixer. The event was held at The Veranda, a historic San Antonio wedding venue.
About 50 local San Antonio wedding and event professionals “stepped” right up to see what the STEP organization is all about. Even though STEP has been in operation for a few months and has now hosted two Wedding Academies, there hasn’t been any real time to let fellow wedding creatives know what the official mission is!
STEP is a group of wedding and event vendors who work together to help educate couples getting married about the delicate intricacies of planning a stress-free and memorable event in which to immortalize their love.
STEP’s Executive Board of Directors took this time to formally introduce itself to the industry and try and answer as many questions or concerns as possible.
The STEP mission to help couples plan the wedding or event of their dreams and make the entire process a pleasurable one which they can reflect on with fond memories.

STEP also educates other vendor professionals about the standards of care of customer service that must be implemented to ensure couples who are hoping to plan an unforgettable event receive a highly favorable experience.
STEP is a group of like-minded business owners and service providers who are dedicated to promoting its members to one another and to couples who are planning a wedding or event in the South Texas area.
STEP encourages its faculty educators to make connections, develop helpful resources, and create an aspiration in an environment of no standardization to encourage greater responsibility from our colleagues.
- The primary goal is for STEP to be a strategic partner in couples’ wedding-planning and event-planning processes.
- The secondary goal is to help clients identify qualified vendors, avoid common planning pitfalls, and to avoid inadvertently creating wedding and event chaos.
- The tertiary goal is to enhance the professionalism and the predictable reliability of our professional members to ensure that the needs of our clients are met without fail.
The Executive Board of Directors for STEP was extremely pleased with the evening’s turn out and is super grateful for the support of the industry. STEP remains hopeful that this organization will grow into something that will be of great use to our industry, as well as, couples who are planning weddings and events.
